LENOVO UNVEILS IDEAPAD Y480 Rp.2.100.000

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 is now available for pre-order from Amazon. The model that is listed on Amazon is priced at $999. It has a third generation Intel Core i7-3610QM quad core processor, 8GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M discrete graphics. It has also got JBL stereo speakers.

While the hardware is state-of-the-art and the price is reasonable, the laptop does have some downsides. For instance, it will get only around 3.5 hours of battery life. Although Amazon hasn’t specifically stated it, the 14 inch display reportedly has only 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. It is also not clear whether this model has a backlit keyboard.

No word on a shipping date, but while introducing the IdeaPad Y-series in January Lenovo has said that it would ship in April. The base
configuration starts at $899.

LENOVO DISCONTINUES THINKPAD X120E Rp.3.100.000

Lenovo has pulled the plug on its ThinkPad X120e thin and light laptop. The company has already replaced the X120e with the X130e.

The ThinkPad X120e was introduced last year. It was the first ThinkPad laptop to sport an AMD Fusion processor. It is no longer available for purchase from the Lenovo website. The ThinkPad X130e has the same semi-rugged case as the X120e. It is also available with more powerful AMD or Intel chips. But the new model is a bit thicker and heavier.

While the X120e measured 1.2 inches in thickness and weighed 3.3 pounds, the x130e measures 1.3 inches in thickness and weighs 3.9 pounds.

While the X120e is no longer available from the Lenovo website, some retailers still have the laptop in stock. Amazon is selling the X130e with AMD E-240 for $380. B&H is offering the faster AMD E-350 model for $450.

LENOVO THINKPAD X130E  Rp.2.700.000

The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is now up for order. The 11.6 incher is aimed at students. It was supposed to be available in December, but Lenovo missed that date. Now the laptop is up for order from Lenovo’s website. The base configuration runs $429. It will start shipping in the second week of February.

Two different models of the laptop are available: one with an AMD processor and another with an Intel processor. The AMD configuration starts at $429. The Intel version runs $549.
Both models have 11.6 inch displays with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Other common specifications include 4GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Because the laptop is aimed at students it has a semi-rugged case with a rubber bumper on the top. The reinforced ports are recessed for protection.

The AMD configuration is available with a choice of AMD E-300 or AMD E-450 APU. Both chips come bundled with powerful Radeon graphics. The Intel configuration has a Core i3-2367M ULV processor and GMA HD 3000 graphics.

LENOVO  NEW IDEAPAD U310 AND U410 Rp.3.400.000

Lenovo is expected to launch two new U series ultraportable laptops in May. The new models are the 13.3 inch IdeaPad U310 and the 14 inch U410. These appear to be the sequels to the U300 and U400.

The new IdeaPad U310 and U410 will ship with Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. That is kind of disappointing because the latest Ivy Bridge processors are expected to be available in April. The storage option will be a 64GB SSD.

The U410 will be available with a discrete graphics option. Note that it will be an optional feature. The base configuration will have the GMA 3000 Intel HD integrated graphics. Both models will support the Intel Wireless Display Technology.

The new IdeaPad U series laptops will be available in a range of colors including Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom, Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue. Prices will start at $700.

LENOVO IDEAPAD S200 ANDROID  Rp.2.500.000

Lenovo unveiled a new ultraportable notebook at CES this week. The Lenovo IdeaPad S200 is pretty cheap for an ultraportable notebook, but that is hardly surprising: It has netbook internals. On the bright side, it has a full-sized keyboard and a larger display.

The Lenovo Ideapad S200 will start at $349. It has an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It will be powered by an Intel Atom Cedar Trail dual core processor. The Cedar Trail Atom chips aren’t significantly faster than the existing Pine Trail Atom chips. But they are more power efficient and have got better graphics capabilities.

The IdeaPad S200 will be slightly slower than typical ultraportables, thanks to its netbook processor. However, it will still be able to meet your everyday computing needs. And because it has got a larger screen and keyboard, it might feel like a full-fledged laptop. What’s more it has got an HDMI output port to take advantage of the HD video playback capabilities of the Cedar Trail processor.

Lenovo also plans to offer an S206 model with an AMD Fusion processor. No word on availability at the moment.

LENOVO UNVEILS IDEAPAD U310 AND U410 Rp.2.100.000

Lenovo has added two new ultrabooks to its laptop lineup. The Lenovo IdeaPad U310 ultrabook has a 13.3 inch display. It measures 0.7 inches in thickness and weighs 3.7 pounds. Those measurements sort of make it thicker and heavier than typical ultrabooks.

The Ultrabook U410 has a larger 14 inch display. It is even thicker and heavier. It measures 0.8 inches in thickness and weighs 4.2 pounds.

Both notebooks will be available with a choice of Intel Core i-series processors. The storage option is a 64GB of SSD or a 500GB hard drive. According to Lenovo the laptops feature the quick resume technology which allows them to resume from sleep in seconds. They will reportedly get 8 hours of battery life.

The IdeaPad U310 doesn’t have a discrete graphics option. The U410, on the other hand, will be available with NVIDIA GeForce 610M graphics. Interestingly none of the ultrabooks we have seen so far have discrete graphics options. So this is a first.

The Lenovo ultrabooks will be available in several different shades including gray, red and blue. They will start shipping in May. Prices will start at $699.

LENOVO ANNOUNCES  EDGE S430 Rp.3.500.000

Lenovo has announced a new 14 inch laptop for small and medium businesses. The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge S430 is available with Intel Core i-series processors, optional NVIDIA discrete graphics and up to 1TB of storage. Prices start at $749. It will be available in June.

The ThinkPad Edge S430 scores in the looks department too. It is available in Mocha Black with metal accents and measures less than an inch in thickness.

The 14 inch laptop has a DVD drive which can also be used to house a secondary hard drive. The base configuration has integrated Intel graphics. Higher-end configurations with NVIDIA Optimus graphics are also possible. Other specifications include Dolby Home Theatre v4 and USB 3.0 ports.

The ThinkPad Edge S430 supports Intel ThunderBolt technology which makes it possible to transfer big files in seconds.
